Manny Pacquiao’s new Foot Locker ad taunts Floyd Mayweather, Jr.

Manny Pacquiao’s new Foot Locker ad did not even mention the name of potential foe Floyd Mayweather, Jr. in his voice message but the ad says a lot about the unbeaten champion’s indecisiveness in forging a fight with him.

The new Foot Locker ad has been launched as part of the shoe retailer’s ?Week of Greatness? advertising campaign, now on its third year. What is interesting is that the ad’s launching seems to have coincided with Pacquiao’s November clash with unbeaten American Chris Algieri. The ad features two young men up in the ring inside a gym talking about Foot Lockers promo which is due for launching. In the gym, Pacquiao overheard the two men while talking about the shoe and apparel company’s promotional ads. “Wait, wait. So the thing the people wanted is finally happening?” Pacquiao asked. Then he proceeded by exclaiming repeatedly; “He’s going to fight me!” over and over in a happy and playful mood. Click here to view the Foot Locker ad. ESPN’s Dan Rafael writes: “It?s a brilliant spot that doesn’t even mention Mayweather?s name, but the message and the joke are loud and clear. And make sure to look closely at Pacquiao?s shirt, a sly reference to Mayweather?s uncle and co-trainer Roger Mayweather’s nickname.” As the Pacquiao-Algieri fight draws near, fight fans want to know who will Pacquiao fight next. This hilarious promotional ad talks a lot more about the identity of Pacquiao’s next foe. Pacquiao is set to face Algieri Saturday (Sunday in Macau) at the Cotai Arena of the Venetian Resort & Casino in Macau, China. Pacquiao is coming off a unanimous decision over Timothy Bradley in a rematch last April while Algieri is fresh from his split decision victory over former Pacquiao sparring partner Ruslan Provodnikov last June. At stake is Pacquiao’s WBO welterweight title.
