Manny Pacquiao (56-5-2) vs Chris Algieri (20-0)- Standing at roughly 5′10″, Chris Algieri owns a clear height advantage and a five-inch edge in reach. In saying that, it is imperative that Algieri establishes his double and triple jabs to off set Pacquiao?s jumping in jittery style of attack. The absolute worse case scenario for Pacquiao would be if Pacquiao goes into this match thinking that his opponent is simply just a mover with no power whatsoever. Algieri has above average hand speed who loves to work behind his jab mixed in with constant movement. He also has incredible stamina and likes to mix his punches shooting from different angles. Algieri?s greatest strengths to me however, are his fighting will, composure, and determination. All 3 very important features to have when facing the still dangerous Pacman. Pacquiao obviously no longer has the blazing hand speed he once possessed. But his power punching output is still enough to keep his foes fully aware of the damage caused when landing on impact. Pacman?s foot speed may have also lost a step or two, but in seeing some of his training footage in preparation for this fight, I see Freddie Roach constantly doing pad work a certain way with the Pacman. Look for Pacquiao to get in close, dip below incoming shots, and fire out a vicious right hook to the body to slow and open Algieri up. Pacquiao will also employ a left hand lead then follow it with a jab and will then move on out. I see exactly why Roach is circling out in a certain direction, if Pacquiao sees this, it?s all she wrote. It?s been a while, but I see Pacquiao unleashing the type of fire that Algieri will not be able to put out. I see the Algieri corner stepping in to stop the fight late. Pacquiao by 10th round stoppage.
