Forced to flee his training camp as a result of the deadly Southern California wildfires, Marco Antonio Barrera has moved his base of operations to San Antonio. Barrera, who is scheduled to fight Manny Pacquiao at the Alamodome on Nov. 15, arrived in the Alamo City on Wednesday night, a day after evacuations were ordered in Big Bear, Calif., a resort town in the San Bernadino Mountains near Los Angeles.
Barrera had been training at the gym of Oscar De La Hoya, his promoter, in Big Bear. As of Wednesday, the blaze was still 25 miles to the west in Lake Arrowhead, but at least one flank of the fire was moving east toward Big Bear.
