NBA Playoffs -- Mavs even up series against Spurs
By Homer D. Sayson PhilBoxing.com Fri, 25 Apr 2014

CHICAGO -- Monta Ellis and Shawn Marion combined for 41 points and the Dallas Mavericks scored an easy 113-92 victory over the San Antonio Spurs in Game 2 of their Western Conference quarterfinals Wednesday night at the AT&T Center.
Devin Harris also had a productive night with 18 and five assists while Dirk Nowitzki chipped in 16 as the Mavericks tied the best-of-7 series at 1-1. Game 3 is Saturday night (Sunday AM in Manila) at the American Airlines Center in downtown Dallas.
"It feels great but its nothing to celebrate. It's one win to one. If we work and keep playing as a team, we will be able to get another one in the third game," Mavericks veteran guard Jose Calderon told NBA.com after the No.8 seeded Mavs slew the No.1 ranked Spurs.
The Spurs shot well from the field, 32 of 64 for 50 percent, including 10 of 20 from 3-point range, but they committed an uncharacteristic 24 team turnovers. The Spurs converted only 48.9 percent of their shots, but they had 92 field goals overall, making 45.
"They got 30 more shots than they did. We shot ourselves in the foot and didn't play well.
For whatever reason, they just played harder than we did," said Tim Duncan of the Spurs,
who were also out-rebounded 35-32.
Duncan had a quiet 11 points and 7 rebounds and Tony Parker finished with just 12. Manu Ginobili topscored for the Spurs with 27 but Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green only had six points apiece. (Homer D. Sayson)
