JHUNRIEL RAMONAL DEFENDS HIS PHILIPPINE 122-LB TITLE AGAINST ARIEL DELGADO IN BIŇAN

PhilBoxing.com

On October 16, Saturday, Philippine Superbantamweight champion Jhunriel Ramonal (9W-2L, 6 KOs) of Wow Videoke Boxing Stable of Bi?an, Laguna will defend his title for the first time against Ariel ?Machine Gun? Delgado (19W-5L-2D, 8 KOs) of the Emil Romano Boxing Stable of Valenzuela City. The venue of the championship battle will be at the Bi?an City Plaza in the province of Laguna, Philippines.

Ramonal is originally from Sindangan, Zamboanga Del Norte but now calls Bi?an City, Laguna his home. He won the vacant Philippine 122-LB title via Unanimous Decision over Sonny Gonzales last April 24, 2010. He won the championship belt in the same venue as the scheduled show this coming Saturday, the Bi?an City Plaza. Hence,

Delgado, born in Silay City, Negros Occidental, is a grizzled veteran pugilist. He was the former WBC Asian Boxing Council 122-LB Champion winning the regional title via a spectacular knockout win over Thailand?s Rachamongkol Kokietgym at 1:42 in the 3rd round last December 28, 2007 at Yasothorn, Thailand. At that time, the Thai had a promising record of 11W-1L record.

This is anticipated as a very competitive fight between a young champion who has fought 11 times as a professional fighting in his home turf against a 26-fight experienced challenger who has fought all over the Philippines as well as in Thailand and Singapore.

The Ramonal-Delgado is the main event of the 9-fight boxing card composed of 70 exciting rounds of professional boxing.

Rounding off all the scheduled fights on that night are as follows:

Ronnelle Ferreras vs. Nelson Llanos ? 10 rounds (108 lbs.)

Richard Pumicpic vs. Rey Sumapig ? 10 rounds (120 lbs.)

Jeffrey Cerna vs. Rex Olisa ? 10 rounds (112 lbs.)

Ruel Zuya vs. Aljohn Osabel ? 8 rounds (124 lbs.)

Jaymart Toyco vs. Mark Ian Rojas ? 6 rounds (106 lbs.)

Michael Escobia vs. Ricky Oyan ? 6 rounds (109 lbs.)

Zoren Pama vs. Baby Marfil Jr. ? 4 rounds (108 lbs.)

Ali Laurel vs. Delgn Deguil ? 4 rounds (113 lbs.)

The boxing show is the latest offering of the longest running boxing TV show, IN THIS CORNER in cooperation with the City Government of Bi?an under the leadership of Mayor Lenlen Alonte.

IN THIS CORNER is shown every Sunday at 7 p.m. on NBN Channel 4.
