FARENAS LOSES, WORLD TITLE TRY IN PERIL!

World-ranked Michael Farenas, a protege of ex-world champ Gerry Penalosa and Japan's Kosuki Washio, practically blew away his chance at a possible world title bout this year when he lost by unanimous decision today to Marlon "Rata" Aguilar of Nicaragua.
The bout was one of the undercard features of the Latin Fury 14 pay-per-view showcasing the return of Antonio Margarito against the very dangerous Roberto Garcia in Aguascalientes, Mexico.
"He lost by unanimous decision," a forlorn Penalosa confirmed today when contacted by Philboxing.com.
