GOLDEN BOY ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP TO BOOST AMATEUR TALENT IN CHIHUAHUA, MEXICO

GOLDEN BOY PRESENTA: GUANTES DORADOS, A NATIONAL TOURNAMENT SEARCHING FOR THE NEXT MEXICAN BOXING STAR

CHIHUAHUA, Mexico (Oct. 14, 2025) — Golden Boy today announced a partnership with Guantes Dorados, a prestigious national amateur tournament based in Saucillo, Chihuahua, Mexico, which has been a breeding ground for future champions for more than two decades.

Under the new concept, Golden Boy Presenta: Guantes Dorados, the company will seek to give national exposure to the next generation of Mexican talent, offering young fighters the ideal platform to begin their journey toward professionalism. The tournament will be livestreamed on Golden Boy's YouTube page, and takes place from Friday, Oct. 24 through Sunday, Oct. 25.

At the same time, the tournament will serve as a stage to discover the next boxing star. For example, Óscar Duarte, a headliner and part of Golden Boy’s formidable stable, competed in Guantes Dorados during his amateur career. The tournament was founded in 2002 in Saucillo, Chihuahua, Mexico, with just 33 fighters registered. Throughout its 23-year history, it has established itself as an important national tournament that, in its 2025 edition, will bring together nearly 500 athletes from across the country.

“I am very happy to announce that Golden Boy is now the main sponsor of the Golden Gloves in Saucillo, Chihuahua, Mexico,” said Golden Boy Chairman and CEO Oscar De La Hoya. “This tournament, with more than 20 years of history, has been a breeding ground for champions, and today with our alliance it becomes a great opportunity to discover the next Mexican superstar."

Continued De La Hoya, “I invite all amateur boxers from Chihuahua and nearby states and all fans to enjoy this event. It will take place from Oct. 24 to 26. Today a new era begins — Golden Boy Presents the Golden Gloves.”

“The 22nd edition of Guantes Dorados Saucillo continues to grow! We are proud to announce that Golden Boy, Oscar De La Hoya’s renowned boxing promotion company, has joined as an official sponsor of our tournament,” said Professor Enrique Ozaeta Balderrama, tournament organizer. “Their support strengthens and enhances the event, taking the passion for boxing to another level. Thanks to Golden Boy, the fights, the organization and the fan experience will be even more memorable. Get ready to experience three days of action, adrenaline and great moments from Oct. 24 to 26, 2025. The Guantes Dorados Saucillo ring has never shined so brightly.”
