South Padre Island, Live on DAZN BROWNSVILLE, TX (October 14, 2025) – Brownsville native Omar “El Relámpago” Juarez (19-2, 7 KOs) will return to the ring in front of a home crowd on Saturday, October 18, when he faces Omar Rosario (14-2, 4 KOs) of Caguas, Puerto Rico, in a -round super lightweight bout. The fight will take place at the South Padre Island Convention Center in Texas and will be televised live on DAZN as part of MVP’s “Most Valuable Prospects 16” card. Juarez, 27, enters the fight on a strong run of form and is looking to extend his winning streak while climbing back into the title picture. With his fan-friendly style and community-first mindset, Juarez will be fighting just minutes from his hometown in what he sees as a pivotal moment in his career. Juarez has been sharpening his tools under the guidance of renowned boxing coach Bob Santos in Las Vegas, where he’s gone through a grueling and highly focused training camp designed to refine his style and sharpen his ring IQ. “Training in Las Vegas with Coach Bob Santos has been hard but rewarding at the same time,” said Juarez. “Every session has been structured with purpose—whether it’s breaking down film, focusing on footwork, or learning to control the tempo. It’s been intense, but I’ve grown a lot mentally and technically.” Santos, known for guiding multiple world champions, has helped Juarez become a more complete fighter by emphasizing discipline, strategic pressure, and adaptability. “I feel like I’m entering my prime—not just physically, but mentally,” Juarez added. “This camp reminded me that small adjustments can lead to big results. I’m more prepared than ever to put it all together in the ring.” Rosario, also a skilled boxer with a decorated amateur background, presents a meaningful test for Juarez.
