Horse racing enthusiasts are gearing up for one of the most prestigious events on the Philippine racing calendar, as the 2025 PHILRACOM Sampaguita Stakes Race is set to thunder down the track on Sunday, 28 September 2025, at the Metro Manila Turf Club, Inc. (MMTCI).
This highly-anticipated race, with a grueling distance of 2000 meters and a total guaranteed prize of PHP1,000,000.00, will feature the nation's finest fillies vying for the coveted title, all competing under a handicapping weight of 53-55 kilograms.
Among the standout entries is Secretary, a formidable filly bred by Joseph Dyhenco and owned by Ronaldo B. David, with experienced jockey Arnold P. Asuncion in the irons.
Also in the mix is High Dollar, representing Running Rich Racing Inc., bred by Melanie C. Habla, and steered by the skilled jockey Mark Angelo Alvarez. Another key contender is Shanghai Silk, owned and bred by Leonardo M. Javier Jr., with jockey Jomer M. Estorque.
The field is further strengthened by several other notable entrants, including Winner Parade, a horse bred and owned by Melanie C. Habla, with jockey John Paul A. Guce guiding the way; Amazing, from the prestigious SC Stockfarm Inc., with jockey John Alvin Guce set to take the reins; and Diamond Heart, bred by Benjamin Abalos Jr. and owned by Ruskin G. Principe, with Pablito M. Cabalejo.
