TRAINER OF THE YEAR BOB SANTOS TO MAKE BROADCASTING DEBUT AT BOXLAB PROMOTIONS' “NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS” ON SEPTEMBER 19 PhilBoxing.com Fri, 19 Sep 2025 ![]() ORLANDO, FL (September 18, 2025) – Renowned boxing mind and 2022 Ring Magazine and Sports Illustrated Trainer of the Year, Bob Santos, will officially step into a new role on Friday, September 19, as he makes his ringside broadcasting debut at Boxlab Promotions’ highly anticipated “Night of Champions” event at the Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando, Florida. Known for developing world champions and guiding elite-level fighters for over three decades, Santos, a San Francisco Bay Area native, will now bring his expertise to the broadcast booth, offering viewers on BXNGTV a rare and insightful perspective from one of the most respected minds in the sport. Santos, who now trains his fighters in the boxing capitol of the world Las Vegas, acknowledged the opportunity presented to him by Boxlab Promotions’ President, Amaury Piedra. “I want to sincerely thank Amaury for trusting me with this opportunity. He’s someone who cares deeply about the sport and wants to elevate it in every way possible. I’ve had the privilege of being in boxing for over 40 years—working with champions, learning from legends—and now I get to share some of that knowledge with the fans in a whole new way. I’ve been blessed to live this sport from every angle.” On his broadcasting debut with Boxlab Promotions, Santos shared his excitement and gratitude. “It’s a tremendous honor to be making my broadcast debut with a promotion like Boxlab. I’ve cornered a lot of fights here over the years and it’s been great. To be part of a card like ‘Night of Champions’—with so much talent on display—it’s going to be fun.” With a résumé shaped by decades of ringside experience, Santos spoke about how his lifelong journey in boxing has prepared him for this transition. “I’ve been fortunate to work alongside some of the greatest trainers and fighters this sport has ever seen. From the gyms to the biggest nights under the lights, it’s all taught me how to see the sport beyond just punches and rounds. I hope to bring that depth to the commentary table and give fans an inside look at what’s really happening in the ring. My whole career has been about learning from the best.” “Night of Champions” will be headlined by a must-see 10-round super lightweight main event, where Kevin Brown (7-0, 3 KOs) of Las Vegas, NV by way of Camagüey, Cuba, will defend his WBA Continental North American title against Mexican power-puncher Juan Meza Angulo (9-2, 6 KOs) from Ensenada, MX.
