Nat’l Invitational Eskrima tourney on March 23-25

DAVAO CITY -- The Araw ng Dabaw National Invitational Eskrima Tournament will be held on March 23 to 25 at the NCCC Mall Victoria Plaza in Bajada, Davao City.
Organizer Ely Gamboa said that 300 participants are expected to join from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
“At least 15 clubs are expected to join,” said Gamboa, a member of the Doce Pares, who also established the Davao Eskrima Club.
The events are boys and girls Single Stick, Single Weapon/Replika, Double Weapon and Espada y Daga.
The categories are Padded Point system - Junior 10 years and under, 11-12, 13-15, 16-17; Single Live Stick – 13-15, 16-17, Senior 18-39, 40-49, 50-59; Double Live Stick – 16-17, 18-39, 40-49 and 50-59.
“There will also be a mixed senior open weight category featuring a single, double and padded stick, a 3-man team,” said Gamboa.
This event is managed by AMARA Global Sport Inc. and sponsored by Davao City Sports Development Office and Ramirez Group of Companies.
