NBA Daily: Spurs Survive Suns 132-121 By Reylan Loberternos PhilBoxing.com Fri, 03 Nov 2023 Tagbilaran City, Bohol – The San Antonio Spurs led by as much as 27 points and the Phoenix Suns roared back to tie the game at 116-all with 4:12 remaining, but Victor Wembanyama scored 11 of his game-high 38 points the rest of the way to make sure that his team doesn’t suffer the same fate the Suns did in their previous outing. The Spurs eventually beat the Suns 132-121, as the Spurs completed a two-game road sweep of the title contender Suns, Thursday night (Friday morning, Philippine time), at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Apart from his new career-high 38 markers on 15-for-26 field goal shooting, including 3-for-6 from behind the arc, the 2023 top overall pick also finished with 10 boards, 2 dimes, 1 steal, and 2 blocks. Zach Collins added 19 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and was perfect from deep on three attempts. Devin Vassell was his usual efficiently productive self with 17 across his name on 70% shooting from the field, including 3-for-3 from the rainbow territory, all in the first two quarters, as he had to sit out the entire second half due to a groin injury. Devin Booker returned from an ankle sprain to pace the Suns with a near triple-double of 31 points, 9 rebounds, and 13 assists. Kevin Durant added 28 markers and 6 dimes. They, however, committed 8 turnovers between them. The entire San Antonio Spurs team, on the other hand, only had 8 of the same. San Antonio, who improved to 3 wins and 2 losses, will return home to host the Toronto Raptors on Sunday night (Monday morning, Philippine time). Meanwhile, the reeling Suns, who dropped to a 2-3 win-loss card, will travel to Philadelphia to face the reigning league MVP Joel Embiid and the 76ers on Saturday night (Sunday morning, Philippine time). How They Scored: 39-20; 75-55; 103-89; 132-121 Spurs – Wembanyama 38, Collins 19, Vassell 17, Sochan 14, Osman 13, Jones 12, Johnson 7, McDermott 6, Bassey 3, Branham 3 Suns – Booker 31, Durant 28, Allen 16, Eubanks 13, Bates-Diop 13, Nurkic 7, Gordon 7, Watanabe 3, Goodwin 3 Comments are highly appreciated.
