Resbak 2 at Malungon, Sarangani Province on July 12

THE much-awaited “Resbak 2” professional mixed martial arts tournament will finally be held on July 12 at the Sunkeen Arena of Municipal Grounds in Malungon, Sarangani Province.
This was announced by MMA Promoter Aaron Kent Odiong of Redpalm Events & Promotions.
“We had a recent meeting with Mayor Maria Theresa Dadivas Constantino and most of the fighters will still fight,” said Odiong.
It is part of the “Mayor’s Cup 2022” and is sponsored by the LGU Malungon headed by Mayor Constantino.
The main event will still feature veteran Dennis “The Cannon” Quiñonero of Cenonas Mixed Martial Art Davao City against new opponent Jay "El Calibre" Verdadero of Observe MMA Tagum City.
The 38-year-old Quiñonero has yet to turn pro. But he has an amateur record of 17 wins, five loses and one draw.
Verdadero, on the other hand, scored his first win in the “Resbak 1” against Nars “Poison” Tancontion of RSK Aguila MMA Samal Island.
After throwing several kicks, the 24-year-old Verdadero put up a takedown to set up a quick Guillotine choke on Tancontion in one minute and 30 seconds.
