May mga nagsabi sa kanya, dugtong ni Ali, na “there was shooting on the streets and fighting and people getting killed and that the Filipino people were no good.” “They (Filipinos) hate you, you are muslim, they are killing muslims, it’s just like Hitler.”

“Lying dogs, lying people!” bulalas ng kampeon tukoy ang mga dayuhang mamamahayag), “Filipinos are the sweetest people in the world. I see muslims and Christians hugging ang kissing each other.”

“When white men in America and some of my own Muslim brothers tol dme about those horrible stories about the Philippines, that made me more determined to get to the truth,” aniya.

“I will believe it (only) when I see for myself,” wika ni Ali. ’And what I have been seeing (since setting my foot here) are the exact opposite of what I was told.”

Sa mga narinig niya tungkol kay Pangulong Makoy, sinabi ni Ali: “he is a great and humble man who is trying to do what is best for his people. It was a great honor to meet a man of his stature and courage.”

Ayon kay Ali, si Marcos ang nagbigay sa kanya “the right and privilege to be paid for his work, which I will use as what I had done in the past, and what the President would’ve wanted it, help poor people by building schools, hospitals, houses and enabling colored children to have decent future.”

Thrilla in Manila --The fight of the Year, The fight of the Century, The Greatest Fight of All Time, -- ay hndi lamang nagpatingkad sa karangalang “The Greatest” kay Ali, ito rin, salamat kay Ali, Frazier at Pangulong Marcos, ang nagsilbing instrumentong nagbalik Pilipinas sa pagkilalang muntik na maglaho dahil sa maduming uri ng pulitika.
