In an impressive Fight of the Year candidate, Juan Francisco “Gallo” Estrada came back from a hard knockdown in the 3rd round to overpower and stop former champ Carlos “Príncipe” Cuadras in round 11 to retain his WBC Super Flyweight World Title today in Ciudad de México.
After being rocked down to the floor, warrior-heart Estrada (41-3, 28 KO’s) fought back to take control of the thrilling war, trading bombs against the game Cuadras, both men fighting their heart out.
The grand finale unfolded in the 11th chapter after Estrada catapulted the strong “Príncipe” Cuadras for the first time to the canvas.
That was the prelude to what was about to be leashed in this great battle between the two Mexican warriors.
Once Cuadras came back up, Estrada intensified his destructive attack, dropping once again the damaged Cuadras who landed in the canvas head first.
The brave Cuadras managed to came back up, but only to receive additional avalanche of power blows till the referee stopped the action at the 2:22 minute mark in round 11.
It was an impressive performance from the 30-year-old Juan Francisco “Gallo” Estrada who now wants a rematch against his nemesis Román “Chocolatito” González (50-2, 41 KO’s).
Chocolatito vs Estrada II would be a hot WBA/WBC super flyweight unification clash – a blockbuster thriller for fans in 2021.
