Canelo vs Triple-G III Possible for Sep 12 By Carlos Costa PhilBoxing.com Wed, 18 Mar 2020 ![]() According to Spanish-language boxing news source NotiFight TV, it is possible that Mexican superstar Saúl "Canelo” Álvarez would wage a third war against Kazakh rival Gennady Golovkin on September 12. 👍👍 Canelo and Triple G battled two close 12-round clashes, and most boxing fans would more than welcome a blockbuster third installment, likely in Las Vegas live on DAZN.💥💥 A possible Canelo vs GGG 3 has not been officially announced. However, according to ESPN, the Canelo vs. Saunders, and Canelo vs. Golovkin 3 are part of a two-fight deal between Canelo, Golden Boy Promotions and DAZN. It has been widely reported that the 11-fight existing contract with DAZN is for USD 365 million dollars. Nevertheless, for the hot Canelo vs Triple G 3 fight to materialize in September, the two star boxers will have to emerge victorious from their June fights. Canelo (53-1-2, 36 KO's) would have to dominate Billy Joe Saunders (29-0, 14 KO's) in their 168 pounds match in Las Vegas in June. For some fans, the Mexican Canelo might be a superior fighter than the unbeaten Briton world titlist Saunders. That remains to be seen. Meanwhile, the popular Genady Golovkin (40-1-1, 35 KO's) -- who is the reigning world middleweight champion of the International Boxing Federation -- was supposed to defend his red 'n golden strap against undefeated mandatory challenger, Kamil Szeremeta (21-0, 5 KO's) of Poland on June 6 at the The Forum in Inglewood, California, USA... provided that the fight would not be postponed due to you know what. Canelo vs Triple G 3 would be one of the highlights of 2020 boxing calendar. If Canelo and Golovkin slug it out again, May the Best Man Win..!! 🔥🔥 The author Carlos Costa is a veteran boxing reporter living in the Philippines.
