NBA --- Davis powers Lakers past Knicks, 100-92
By Oliver Iglesias PhilBoxing.com Fri, 24 Jan 2020

NEW YORK – Anthony Davis tallied 28 points, 5 assists and went 13-for-13 on free throws to lead the visiting Los Angeles Lakers over the New York Knicks 100-92 on Wednesday night at the Madison Square Garden.
All-Star LeBron James scored 21 points and is only 44 points off Kobe Bryant for third place on NBA’s career scoring list.
The Lakers are coming off their worst loss of the season Monday in Boston and were expected to breeze through the Knicks, a team struggling with a 12-32 record.
But the halftime score was 48-all and James had to figure out a way to improve the team’s scoring.
“I was more of a facilitator in the second half. I wanted to get AD (Davis) going. He looked a little out of rhythm in the first half,” James iterated.
Also at the post-game locker room media interview, PhilBoxing.com was able to touch base with Lakers power forward Kyle Kuzma and asked him on the adjustments he made on the second half to enable him to contribute 10 points, mostly from assists.
“I guess my teammates found me. I was open during transition, even got a couple offensive rebounds. Coach Frank also called some plays for me in the second half, so those kind of helped,” Kuzma said.
LA guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope also finished in double figures with 13 markers.
Marcus Morris Sr had 20 points and 6 rebounds while Damyean Dotson added 17 points anchored on 5-for-11 three-point shooting – for the losing side.
Los Angeles shot 43.9 percent overall (36-for-82) while New York had 40.9 percent on 36-for-88 conversion.
The Knicks host Pascal Siakam and the Toronto Raptors this Friday, January 24.
