NBA Daily: Spurs Make 19 Treys to Dominate League-Best Bucks 126-104

PhilBoxing.com

Boracay Island, Philippines – San Antonio’s long range bombs were on target. Coupled by DeMar DeRozan’s mid-range genius, the Spurs thrashed the Milwaukee Bucks 126-104 on Monday night (Tuesday morning, Philippine time) at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas.

In arguably their best all-around game, thus far this season, the San Antonio Spurs made a season-high 19 three-pointers to dominate the league’s top team. Head coach Gregg Popovich’s wards shot an impressive 54.3% from deep, which was slightly better than their overall field goal shooting accuracy at 51.1%.

The Spurs’ torrid shooting from deep also made life a lot easier for DeMar DeRozan to operate in the mid-range, as he finished with a game-high 25 markers on a very efficient 11-for-15 field goal shooting, to go with 3 boards and 7 dimes.

Patty Mills added 21 points – all made from behind the arc – for the Spurs, who outrebounded the Bucks 54-to-38.

Reigning league MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo stuffed the stats sheet for the Bucks with 24 points, 12 rebounds, 8 assists, 3 steals, and 1 block. Unlike in their previous encounter with the Spurs, however, he didn’t connect on any of his five attempts from the rainbow territory.

The Bucks, who remained at the top of the team standings with a 32-6 win-loss card, will try to bounce back, as they travel to San Francisco, California to face the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night (Thursday morning, Philippine time).

Meanwhile, the Spurs, who improved to 15 wins against 20 losses, will be at Boston to face the Celtics on the same night.

How they scored:

Spurs 126 – DeRozan 25, Mills 21, Aldridge 17, Gay 17, Murray 13, White 9, Walker 8, Lyles 6, Forbes 6, Metu 2, Poeltl 2
