Knicks spoil Porzingis' homecoming, defeat Mavericks 106-103
By Oliver Iglesias PhilBoxing.com Fri, 15 Nov 2019

NEW YORK – The New York Knicks posted its second win against the Dallas Mavericks in less than a week as point guard Frank Ntilikina drained a pair of free throws with 3.9 seconds left to ensure a thrilling 106-103 victory on Thursday at the Madison Square Garden.
Forward Marcus Morris Sr. duplicated his scintillating performance in Dallas (November 8 game) as he sank a 3-pointer to make it 104-101 and the Knicks never looked back for its third win in 9 games.
Kristaps Porzingis made his return to the Big Apple after being traded to the Mavericks in January 2019. Amidst a sea of boos and with fans chanting “KP sucks” every time he had ball possession, Porzingis still managed to score 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
During the post-game presser, Porzingis was asked about the fan jeering. “I would not say it affected me. I heard it and it was pretty loud. But I tried to stay focused and just play my game,” he said.
Five Knicks finished in double figures led by Morris with 20 points, power forward Julius Randle contributed 17, centers Mitchell Robinson and Bobby Portis chipping in 16 and 10 markers respectively while Dennis Smith Jr added 13 to highlight the Knicks’ huge offensive night.
Dallas star guard Luka Doncic had a triple double with a game-high 33 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists while big man Boban Marjanovic had 10 points and 5 boards as the Mavericks dropped to 6-5.
The Knicks went 42-for-94 for a 44.7% field goal conversion while the Mavs had 36-for-84 for 42.9% clip.
The Knicks host the Charlotte Hornets this Saturday.
