SULTAN'S WINNING FORMULA: NO RESPECT TO HIS OPPONENTS
By Virgi T. Romano PhilBoxing.com Mon, 21 May 2018

LOS ANGELES, Ca. -- How can you describe a boxer like Jonas Sultan?
For ALA Boxing Stable chief trainer Edito Villamor, two words will suffice to describe his ward -- no respect! But, don't misunderstand.
Because Sultan only shows no respect to his opponent, especially if he is a world champion.
Two former world champions, Sonny Boy Jaro and Johnriel Casimero, fell to Sultan's fury, defeating one after the other (via 8th round knockout vs Jaro, and unanimous decision against Casimero).
"Nung laban kay Casimero, walang naniwala. Kami rin e. 'Yung game plan namin paatrasin si Casimero kasi he's more as a pressure fighter.
Come May 26, Sultan will battle, yet, another champion, but this time, his opponent is the current world champion Jerwin Ancajas, who will defend the IBF superflyweight belt for the fifth time.
Can Sultan do the same thing with Ancajas?
Villamor thinks so.
"More of street fighting kaya 'yung style niya hindi mo malaman at nakita ni Jerwin 'yan at alam ni Jerwin 'yan (style ni Sultan)," said Villamor.
Villamor added that although Ancajas is a good boxer, he noticed some flaws to his style.
Villamor got helped in preparing Sultan from a well-known sports performance specialist Nick Curson, who provided the scientific conditioning of the challenger.
(VTRomano)
