WUZHATI WINS WBO ASIA PACIFIC YOUTH TITLE IN DALIAN

PhilBoxing.com

DALIAN, CHINA - Wuzhati Nuerlang of China pounded a lopsided unanimous decision win over Iddrisa Amadu of Ghana in their ten round fight for the vacant WBO Asia Pacific Youth super middleweight title.

Amadu had a big height and reach advantage but his jab was not sharp and consistent enough to keep Nuerlang at bay. The Chinese boxer easily closed the distance and his punches landed with increasing frequency as the rounds progressed.

Amadu gamely engaged at close quarters and even landed a few good counter body shots. But Nuerlang?s punches had more pop and he was the busier, more aggressive boxer all night long.

Nuerlang won by 100-90 from all three judges - Mekin Sumon (Thailand), Surat Soikrachang (Thailand) and Han Hongxiang (China). The referee was Atty. Danrex Tapdasan of the Philippines. The WBO regional bout was supervised by WBO VP for Asia Pacific Leon Panoncillo.

Mu Xiaolu got a hard earned unanimous decision win over Cai Shidong for the WBO China National super bantamweight title. The fight was highlighted by fast paced action and back and forth exchanges and was the most competitive fight of the night.

The scores - Surat Soikrachang (Thailand) ? 78-74, Danrex Tapdasan (Phils) ? 77-75 and Han Hongxiang (China) ? 77-75. The referee was Mekin Sumon of Thailand.

In an all female affair ? which included a female referee ? Xu Chunyan stopped Guo Lijun after Guo chose not to answer the bell going into round five.

The referee was Yuan Yunzi, the PBC of China?s first female referee.

Avzalbek Kuranbaev of Tajikistan dropped Yang Jibao with a right-left hook combo in round one. The Chinese boxer got up but was still shaken. The bell saved him but in the second round, Kuranbaev continued his barrage prompting Referee Surat Soikrachang to stop it at the 0:35 mark.

Lin Chunlei of China prevailed over Indonesian Ricky Manufoe by unanimous verdict. The scores ? 59-55twice and 58-56.

The fight between Zeng Yujie and Sandeep Kumar of India was downgraded to an exhibition after the weigh-in. Kumar weighed in 5 lbs over the contracted weight despite efforts to sweat off his excess pounds. Zeng also stopped him in the opening round with hard body shots.

The fights were supervised by the Professional Boxing Commission (PBC) of China. This fight card was held Saturday at the Barley Sports and Culture Center and promoted by Zhengjing Culture Company,Ltd.
