SULAIMAN'S BEAUTIFUL TRIBUTE TO OPBF PRESIDENT'S WIFE PhilBoxing.com Wed, 03 May 2006 Philboxing.com would like to extend its condolences to OPBF president Frank Quill for the passing away of his wife Sue after a lingering illness. The news was relayed to Philboxing.com by international referee Bruce McTavish, a close family friend of the Quills. Hereunder, Philboxing.com is reprinting a beautiful message sent to the Quill family by World Boxing Council president Jose Sulaiman, courtesy of Ronnie Nathanielsz: God knows how deeply I wished to be personally here today, next to my beloved friend Frank Quill, to bring my farewell to Sue, his wife and love of his life , during these moments when God has asked her to join Him in Heaven. While my presence in body was not possible, my presence in heart and mind is in the form of a prayer , through the kindness of my dear friend Gus Mercurio. We can not understand the mystery of life, nor the ways that the Almighty has taken her, but we should rejoice in the goodness of her life in the many accomplishments done through her devotion to her husband Frank , that set so many unselfish, dedicated , and exemplary performance standards , to those who had the fortune of being her close friends. I thank God for Sue?s strength of character, disguised by the sweetness of her nature and smile; for the ?finesse? of her manners as a lady; the same strength and courage that carried her through many years and the very last moments of her life. For the high standards of excellence which she set for herself in her long life time devoted in a staunch alliance with her husband in the service of the volcanic, but also the friendly hand of boxing; Yet also for the genuiness of her affections, which glowed openly beneath her quiet exterior. I thank Thee for bringing into her life the interest, dedication, enthusiasm and a humanitarian attitude in the service to others through her devotion of many years of her life in the field of publications of scientific medical interest. My gratitude and highest regard goes also for the quiet quality of her ways and manner, her innate courtesy and ladyship, her principles and loyalty for her husband's friends and specially for the WBC and the OPBF, which shunned all obvious display. I thank God for the sensitivity of her mind, which recognized in the events of life the roughness and subtleties, which she loved to capture in her devotion, passion , love and care of animals, and very specially for her beloved blue and white magpies. I thank Thee for the rare profound love, respect, and unbreakable companionship for the apple of her eyes, her husband Frank Quill, to whom she devoted her whole loving life. Sue will live forever in the hearts of all who knew her and loved her, for her humble dignity, her contagious smile , her touching sweetness and her sensitivity and love for all what was good in life. I thank our ALMIGHTY for her also leaving an exemplary mark of strength and valor to confront with dignity the pains that she had to suffer in the last years of her life and for her legend of service to the needy that she left in the hands of her husband to continue in life with more dedication and power than ever. THE MATTER IS GONE,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, BUT HER DEEDS, COURAGE , DIGNITY AND HUMAN SWEETNESS WILL LIVE FOR EVER ,,,,,,,,,,,,, AND FOR THAT, OH ALMIGHTY GOD , WE THANK YOU . Jose Sulaiman Ch.
