Manny Pacquiao, the eight division world champion and incoming coach of Team KIA in the PBA, will be present during the PBA dispersal draft on Friday.
Team KIA manager Eric Pineda relayed this information to PBA Media Bureau Chief Willie Marcial.
Along with fellow expansion team Blackwater Sports, Team KIA will be able pick players that were left unprotected by the ten current PBA teams. Although the league did not release an official list of the players available in the expansion draft, there are bound to be some good ones there as loaded teams such as the Grand Slam champion San Mig Super Coffee Mixers and the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters will have to let some of the players go.
Rookies Alex Nuyles of Rain or Shine and Isaac Holstein of San Mig Super Coffee are said to be some of the players available for Blackwater Sports and Team KIA.
Being the head coach of Team KIA, Pacquiao will be the primary decision maker for the composition of their team. However, Marcial noted that Pacquiao could also be there for something else.
?Hindi natin alam pero baka isabay na niya yung application niya sa PBA Draft,? said Marcial during a phone interview with Yahoo Philippines Sports.
A few days ago, Pacquiao expressed his interest in joining the PBA Draft and expressed through Pineda that he hopes no other team would pick him as he already has an agreement with Team KIA.
