Hello, my dear RSR readers. In this weeks “Ask the Champ” bag, I got off to a late start to answer your questions, but here I am, trying to turn it in on time, plus Geno said that if I was late I was going to get a kick in the grapes, and I think I take enough punishment in my career. Nobody told me that writing for RSR was going to be so violent. Now to some good news…well good for me. I was given the opportunity to play a small part in the Rock’s new movie coming out sometime next year; it is called “The Game Plan.” It is actually a Disney comedy, where the Rock plays some egotistic quarterback who finds out he has a daughter. Well, you will have to see the movie to figure out the rest. I played one of the team trainers, and even though my part is not guaranteed to make the final cut, I will say that the small part I was involved in was fun. Yes, ladies I got to meet the Rock and yes he was nice and down to earth, and very serious about his roles I will add. Damn, I am late and here I am ranting about me. Ok, now to answer your questions.
RING RANKING CONFUSION
Dear Champ,
You’ve made Ring’s Top 100 Fighters list this year (congratulations) but are not listed in its monthly divisional rankings. Where do you place yourself in the Jr. Middleweight rankings and who would you like to fight next?

Cool, I didn’t even know that I made the list. I have no idea how a legitimate World Champion does not make the Ring Rankings. Can someone please explain that to me because I am just not getting it? The funny thing is before I took Alejandro Garcia apart he was in the rankings. The exposure that I am not getting doesn’t help, but come on! What else do I have to do to get some recognition? I would love to fight one of the other World Champions to unify the division, starting with the Golden Boy, Oscar De La Hoya, and Cory Spinks and whoever dares step up to the plate. I put myself in the top 3 or 5 of the Junior Middleweights out there right now. If anyone out there wants to prove me wrong just sign the contract and we can do this. I want nothing but big fights and I am willing to give up my title to prove myself. How many World Champions are willing to do that?

Here is a shocker for you. Not only do I not think you or Geno are the ladies man, I think that TNT and that little man Cedric are. But if I had to choose one, TNT is hot and all 9’0 feet of him are it!!!

You want us to do a round robin to see who the ladies man is? Nah, you can keep TNT. They do not pay me enough money to fight a 9 foot tall solid as a rock hulk look alike. I will let Geno and Cedric fight TNT for that title.

Are you not watching our RSRTV shows? I answered this question on the show last week, but I will give you a pass and answer it again. If there was going to be unification in the heavyweight division I will have to give the edge to Wlad Klitschko because he seems to be the most groomed and talented of the bunch. My son is 11 years old and wants to play football and also box. He shows skills in both but I am leaning towards pushing the football because he can get a college scholarship from it. You started boxing young so what would you suggest? He really loves both and shows promise.

Wow, I feel honored that you are asking me in what direction your son should go in to pursue his possible future, but I must pass. I will tell you what I did with my son though. My son is 13 now and loves football and boxing like your son, and I let him do both because as they play and practice and sharpen their skills, they themselves, decide in what direction or what career to pursue. Your son is only 11; he may and will change his mind about what he wants to do before deciding a sport or career. There is even a possibility that he may not end up doing either. Right now, I tell my son to concentrate in School because, honestly, kids their age do not have the determination yet to dedicate themselves to anything. Right now, it is about being a kid and having fun. On that note, let him try both. Good luck.

Thank you, for that wonderful compliment. It is my pleasure to answer all of the questions I get from the RSR readers. Yes, I, myself, have noticed the similarities between Pacquiao and Bruce Lee. They even destroy their opponents the same, even though Bruce Lee’s was in the movies and Pacquiao’s is for real, in the ring.

do you think the pacman can take juan diaz and knock him out. if ever pac moves to 135lbs division. what do you think.
one more question who will be best remebered manny pacquiao, erik morales or marco antonio barrera after they called it a carrer?

I honestly am not going to be able to say with 100% certainty that Pacquiao will be able to beat Diaz at 135lbs, let alone knock him out. This is one fight that I would love to see because I want to know if Pacquiao will be able to dominate the lightweight division like he has the other ones he has fought in. I know lightweight is only 5 lbs up from where Pacquiao is fighting now, but they are bigger guys moving down to 135 that he would be fighting.
On your last question, I really do not know the answer because who will be best remembered does not necessarily mean who is better. It just means who the boxing fans and public have seen more on TV, especially if they have had memorable fights. Marco Antonio Barrera and Erik Morales have had some memorable wars and fights. Pacquiao has only had a few and that is because he dominates most of his opponents. I feel that Pacquiao legacy is going to be remembered for a long time because of his accomplishments in the ring, the type of fighter he is, and where he comes from. Not many champions have come from the Philippines. Mexico on the other hand has had more champions than I can count.

If I am not mistaken this is your second question on my bag, I will take that as a compliment. Yes, Pacman can unify the titles in the super featherweight division, which is what I wish he does and then retires and go down as the best super featherweight in history. In the lightweight division, I am not to sure, but I would love to see it.

actually i tried to register in PACLANDS forum unluckily i wasn’t able to get the spot to have my opinion on JIMRE JACA AND MAUEL MARQUEZ…i really have to say im a filipino but giving my bet who is going to win for me it is Marquez…i guess JACA doesn’t have the skills to beat a much better fighter i can see in MARQUEZ..warrior he may seem…JACA is not as good in conditioning,stlye,no boxing skills that you can see from some real warriors nowadays.See the last time he fought in the philippines in the undercard of manny pacquiao larios..just a lucky man he won..but not good enough in the eyes of all filipino viewers..so as for me if i were JACA much better for to return home than saying a lot of bullies and reasons in fighting marquez,,,now the guy is having problems with passport,weight,jet logs,,whta in this world your reasons are..hello be professional…time is running out for you this might be the end or be honest you can not beat MARQUEZ>>>tnx,,,hope you can pass this to PACLAND SITE
