In addition to boxing’s newest star, Marcos Maidana, who dropped a spirited majority decision to Floyd in the main event, the card also featured two now mainstream stars on the undercard, Adrien Broner and Amir Khan.

And if there were any doubts about Khan and Broner’s popularity among the the masses, last night certainly thwarted them. Although it’s rare for undercard boxers to vault into Google’s top 10, the queries “Adrien Broner” and “Amir Khan” ranked Nos. 6 and 8 respectively in Google Trends for Saturday, May 3, 2014 despite the fact the afforementioned fighters faced opponents who were relatively obscure to the casual fight fan.
