At the final press conference for the upcoming May3rd unification bout featuring Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Marcos “El Chino” Maidana, both men showed up with two very different and distinctive looks at the podium in the MGM Grand media center.
While the Argentine puncher looked extremely dapper in his tuxedo of choice, one couldn’t help but notice a striking resemblance to the South Korean born musician, better known as Psy.
Was the look intentional?
In 2012, the South Korean singer, songwriter, and dancer became a global phenomenon with his shockingly catchy “Gangnam Style” song and accompanied dance. The once struggling musician trapped lightning in a bottle and made millions of dollars in the process by capturing the imagination of the entire entertainment world.
A lot like the surprising success story that is Park Jae-Sang, can “El Chino” score a big hit this weekend by overcoming the odds and knocking out the best defensive fighter in boxing?
Is Maidana hoping to garner the same kind of worldwide acclaim with his new look for this week’s festivities in Vegas?
If the hard punching Argentine does indeed knock-out the biggest name in boxing on Saturday night, Maidana could become a seemingly overnight sensation and global superstar…just like the ambitious creator of the mind numbing but infectious dance craze.
