Steal the Show
Although most of the media attention will be on Cotto vs. Martinez this weekend there will be guaranteed fireworks on the undercard when Marvin Sonsona rematches against Wilfredo Vasquez Jr. Both Sonsona and Vasquez have proven K.O. power as exhibited in their high knockout ratios. In the first fight Vasquez landed one of those body shots that a spectator would cringe at. It had pain written all over it! The rematch will be fireworks and Sonsona should be given full credit for doing what the majority of fighters refuse to do. Unlike many, Sonsona is stepping back into the fire with respect to the man that gave him, in convincing fashion, his only defeat. Having come off a highlight reel knockout, Sonsona most certainly could have avoided this particular match-up.

Fabulous Featherweight Form
Wouldn?t it be fabulous indeed if a super tournament could be put together involving these various Featherweights. The division is red hot and all of these little men with the big punches and big hearts would be a great draw in the house, Forum Fabulous, that was that of the legendary Jack Kent Cooke. If Sonsona wins big this weekend he certainly, given his fan friendly style of speed, power, and electric knockout power, puts himself right in the middle of the Featherweight mix. Alternatively, Vasquez Jr., a very gifted fighter as exhibited in his fight with top ranked Flash Donaire, has all of the necessary boxing tools and IQ to put himself right back in that same mix. What better place for Vasquez to ride the Puerto Rican Cotto wave than in Madison Square Garden this weekend. Either way look for Sonsona and Vasquez to bring high speed, hard punching electricity to the Mecca of boxing. Nothing weak to this big fight undercard!
