Undefeated IBF welterweight champion ?Showtime? Shawn Porter made a statement Saturday night with an emphatic and violent stoppage victory over former world champion Paul Malignaggi as seen live on Showtime. Porter, who captured the title in his last outing defeating Devon Alexander, went at Malignaggi from the opening bell and hurt him several times with big left hooks in the opening rounds. In Round 4, Porter used a double jab to set up a big knockdown. Malignaggi got up but was on unsteady legs. Porter was relentless and hurt Paulie again before finishing him off with a devastating barrage along the ropes. Malignaggi dropped and lay motionless under the bottom rope where the bout was waived off at the 1:14 mark of the fourth. With the win Porter retained his IBF title and moved to 24-0-1 (15 KOs) while Malignaggi drops to 33-6 (7 KOs).
