This has been a week from hell people. It was Murphy’s Law: Whatever could go wrong, did go wrong. I even got shortchanged at the grocery store. I bought 2 packages of turkey burger, and when I got home, only 1 package was in the bag. That moron that was bagging my groceries is now having turkey burger on my dime. He probably made a delicious meatloaf or maybe turkey meatballs, and I had to foot the bill. Now, I could call the grocery store and tell them that I didn’t get my meat, but that would leave me open for jokes in bad taste. “Oh this @#$@# doesn’t have his meat,” they’d say. Now the deal is no longer: buy one get one free on the turkey burger to buy one get kicked in the grapes.
Okay, how about some more of my bad week? Somebody at work ate my pudding and had a field day at the expense of my fluffernutters. I am not a rich man, and because of this, I must bring peanut butter & fluff sandwiches, that are also known as “Fluffernutters.” There was a campaign to call them “nutfluffers,” but it fell on deaf nuts. I mean ears. Now, a smidge of peanut butter, some fluff, and 2 snack pack, chocolate puddings may not seem like a lot, but when you add them up you get quite the meal. Anyway, I report to work, and look for my food and it’s all gone. The 250 pound woman looked at me with the “what did you expect” look. She has done this in the past, but it has been addressed. Obviously, you can lead a cow to water but you can’t make her drink.
My sister went to a psychic this week and I thought it was all bullcrap until he told her that I was going to be wealthy, and that my movies were going to work out. That’s a spicy meatball. The guy was a palm reader and I’m afraid to go to those. If I’m holding a guys hand for an extended period of time, he might say: “I know your future and it involves a lot of holding hands big boy.” Whatever the case, the fact that this psychic has seen my movies going gangbusters was the one bright spot this week.

Great to hear from you. I don’t think that you can compare Lennox Lewis to the Klitschkos Wlad and Vitali are good fighters, but Lennox is a great one. He gets a bad rap, and you point to his two losses, but he avenged both in style. I didn’t see Wladimir demanding a rematch with Corrie Sanders or Lamon Brewster. I wouldn’t necessarily say that Wladimir was on his feet during the Sanders bout. He was like a yo-yo and was more out than Lennox was against McCall.
As far as the Klitschkos crying foul, they had good reason, and not because what they were saying was true. Wladimir was being rebuilt from that Sanders defeat and HBO had invested so much into him, and to maintain this, they needed to create a little doubt about the Brewster defeat. Wlad does not like to be pressured and he can dish it out but he cannot take it. He wants an easy going contest where he can jab, throw his combinations, and just let the KO come to him. When a guy like Brewster took it and kept coming, Wlad became worried and mentally exhausted.
Now Sam Peter having the hometown edge or whatever…I don’t agree with you there. I thought that Wlad was holding excessively in that contest and there were no warnings coming his way, but the shots were behind the head for sure. So, it went both ways.
To sum this up, I will say that you can argue that Wlad is quicker than Lennox, but not Vitali. Vitali fought like a robot…clunky. Regardless of how you determine their assets, you can’t look at Lewis and the Klitschkos and make “The Lion” anything but #1 out of the three, by miles.

Hi!! King Geno this my first time to ask you. I would like to know how important jab punch is in a fight? Because most of the fight that i saw is that the winner has a better jab. Thnks!! GOD Bless you and love one’s!!!

Great name, by the way. The jab is the most important punch in the game of boxing. Men with great jabs are difficult to beat as proven throughout history. Sonny Liston and George Foreman probably had the best jabs in boxing, where they could actually knock you out with it. Bruce Seldon also had one heck of a jab. The jab sets up everything else, and you can watch the great fighters begin with the jab and then they would add in the right cross and left hook…just building off of that punch. Guys that don’t throw that punch will not turn into great fighters. Even Mike Tyson had a good jab in his prime.

MORALES, DUDDY, AND THE RSR POLL

Long time no talk big man. The excitement is starting to build and the shakes are becoming more frequent – Morales -Pacqauio III is coming nearer. I love El Terrible he is the one responsible for igniting my love of boxing and I was devastated after the second fight. But I am looking forward to the decider BECAUSE that is what this is, the score is 1-1. Yes Manny was very impressive in 2nd fight but Morales was the undoubted winner in the 1st.I think he has a real chance of producing something special in the upcoming war (fight just doesnt do it). Do you think Im nuts???
Also Im growing increasingly frustrated at the lack of Duddy on TV over here, hopefully that will change now he has a belt. What was the Campus fight like? Was it a war like I heard and do you see any future chance of greatness for Duddy? He seems to have heart, a chin and a big punch. Is he a Gatti or is there extra skill there?
And come on people – the Poll results shouldnt suprise anyone. I really like Pacquaio and his fans – their passion is infectious but RR is like a Phillipine colony, Manny by KO was always going to be the clear winner. But the Filipino lads have to be commended!

Good to hear from you man. I do not think that you are nuts at all. Although I favor Manny, I think that Morales will be at his most dangerous. He is going into his bout highly motivated and with nothing to lose. He is going to make this one hell of a fight, but with the lay off, weight fluctuation, and decline in skills, I suspect that he will be easy prey after six rounds.
John Duddy is great, and he is going to be a star, but the television exposure all around isn’t good. I didn’t see the Campas bout, but I heard that it was great and it was terrific experience for the Irishman. I look for big things from John Duddy and hopefully, it will be on television. Duddy is better than Arturo Gatti, in my opinion. He’s good and getting better and he is going to win a world title.
The poll results weren’t that much of a surprise, but it’s a major bout and deserved a poll.

I can’t really tell you which heavyweight is the best, but let me give you a list of heavies under 30 that are American, to watch:
Eddie Chambers, 27-0, 15 KO’s Malik Scott, 25-0, 10 KO’s Chris Arreola, 17-0, 15 KO’s Alonzo Butler, 24-0, 18 KO’s JD Chapman, 25-0, 22 KO’s Jason Estrada, 7-0, 1 KO David Rodriguez, 23-0, 22 KO’s
Now, they are all under 30, but they are also all untested. None of them have stepped up yet, but they are guys to watch at this time. There is no American heavyweight that really stands out, but if there is somebody coming up that is exciting the crowds, its David Rodriguez, with his 20 first round knockouts. It should be interesting when he faces somebody with some experience and grit.

Manny has to be on his game to win this bout. He needs to focus on the body of Morales and continue throwing that right hook that worked so good the last time. The most important thing for him is to work that body because he didn’t in the first and lost, and did so in the second and won. Also, I expect Morales to start strong, but the weight fluctuation, time off, and he seems to be beyond his better days, will mean a lot as the fight goes on. The body work, right hook, and focus is the magic combination for the Pacman.
