Floyd Mayweather vs. Marcos Maidana (for the WBC/WBA welterweight straps)- No need to sweet talk this one. Floyd will be too quick, too sharp, and his defensive stance will keep Maidana in desperate search of a deadly shot that may never present itself. Maidana?s only real chance of pulling off a major upset would be to land one of his extremely heavy looping over hand right shots and nailing Floyd right at the temple. Other than being able to land that money shot, I just don?t see Maidana having much of a chance against the super elusive Mayweather. I see this ending one of two ways, Floyd outpointing Chino for all 12 rounds as he did against Baldomir, or with Mayweather tearing Maidana apart with super clean hard shots forcing the referee to step in to save Maidana from further punishment late in the fight. The safe bet is to take Mayweather by unanimous decision, so I will instead take the harder bet and pick Mayweather by TKO in the 11th round. Tony Weeks will have to be the one to save Maidana from this thrashing, we already know that Robert Garcia will not step in and save his fighter, just ask Antonio Margarito and Brandon Rios.
Luis Collazo vs. Amir Khan (welterweight) – Out of all the televised fights on ??The Moment??, This fight to me brings the most intrigue. In my opinion, I feel that Khan?s speed should be too much for Collazo to deal with. But then again, Collazo right now is fighting hungrier than ever before and his experience mixed with his southpaw style will cause problems for Khan. Behind his wicked speedy stiff jab, Khan has the skills to beat Collazo in a 8 rounds to 4 type of fight. Collazo on the other hand, has a high enough boxing IQ to time Khan jumping in with his reckless blinding speed and catching Khan with a punch Khan never saw coming. I am torn on this one, too many ways to spin this one, I am not confident in this prediction at all, but give me Amir Khan by controversial split decision.
Adrien Broner vs. Carlos Molina (super lightweight)- I see Broner walking down Molina and killing Molina to the body. Broner will attack Molina?s mid section early and will then hurt Molina with a mean right cross. Broner will then jump on Molina to stop him with a barrage of punches. I am going to take Broner by 8th round TKO.
J?Leon Love vs. Marco Antonio Periban (super middleweight)- This clash should have some rough exchanges. Periban is a hard fighter to discourage, but he tends to drop his right hand low upon release. This is where I see Love taking advantage of that big Periban mistake. Love will rip his foe with a heavy right hand body shot and will then slip the right and unload a lethal left hook upstairs to buzz Periban. I feel that Love will score with enough judge friendly shots to win by unanimous decision.
