Undefeated heavyweight contender Deontay Wilder (31-0-31KO) fresh off of his 1st round knockout over Malik Scott, sat down with 8CountNews this evening and talked about his recent win. Wilder now has 31 knockouts in as many fights. There hasn’t been an American knockout artist like Wilder since the Mike Tyson days.
Deontay answers some of his critics that are claiming that Scott took a dive. Wilder explains that it was the left hook on Scott’s temple that did the damage. The straight right hand just cleaned up the rest. I happen to agree with that assessment.
Wilder will now wait and see who he faces next. He will take on the winner of the Chris Arreola Vs. Bermane Stiverne fight which will be for the WBC heavyweight title. After that fight, if he wins, he’ll set himself up for a shot at Wladimir Klitschko. Wilder talks about how he would handle Klitschko when and if that fight arises.
