Mike Tyson versus Muhammad Ali, Joe Louis, Rocky Marciano, Jack Dempsey, and Riddick Bowe

EVER since Mike Tyson cannoned on to the scene in 1985 he has been compared with the greatest heavyweights of all-time. At his peak ? in 1988 ? several respected boxing figures declared that the ferocious monster would have been unbeatable at any point in boxing history. At the time, as he machine-gunned Larry Holmes, Tony Tubbs, and Michael Spinks, such statements of grandeur were not outlandish.

But his bullets and self-respect would soon desert him, and today, over eight years after his career crunched to an ugly halt, opinions continue to rage about Tyson?s place among the greatest.

It?s easy to dismiss him because of the meltdowns he suffered in and out of the ring, but the following fantasy fights have been considered with Tyson at his aforementioned 1988 peak. Before he?d tasted defeat and embraced his shortcomings. Before his inner demons lost control and almost killed him.

The fights are considered as one-off events (held in the current day), and are not an indication of who had the better career.
