Pacquiao: From boxing king to concert performer

MANILA — Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao is not only a boxing sensation. He is now embarking to another talent venture that would mean another business for him.

This as Pacquiao, now an exclusive talent of ABS-CBN Network, staged an inclusive concert at the Metro Bar along West Avenue in Quezon City here Sunday night.

Top billed by his hit song “Para sa’ yo ang Laban na To” composed by Lito Camo, the Pacquiao concert proved to be a star studded one although it was only a birthday gift for his beloved Cristy Fermin of ABS-CBN’s “The Buzz.”

Pacquiao is also expected to be in Bacolod today to receive an award from the City Government.

Pacquiao’s concert was also dubbed as an extra-ordinary one because almost all of his audience were “Big Stars” of Manila, including Rudy Fernandez, Philip Salvador, brothers Jinggoy and Jude Estrada, Kris Aquino and James Yap, Ara Mina, John Estrada, Joross Gamboa, Diether Ocampo, Kristine Hermosa, Sandara Parks, Jestoni Alarcon, Willie Revillame, Cogie Domingo, Assunta da Rossi-Ledesma, John Loyd Cruz, Mark Bautista, Roxanne Gino-o, among other Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) winners both in the Regular and Teen Edition led by Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson.

But Pacquiao said he was more nervous singing on stage than punching an enemy in a boxing ring.

He though stressed that his concert was as sort of thanksgiving to all Filipinos especially to ABS-CBN who really supported him all the way in his two previous much publicized fights against Mexican great boxers Erik Morales in La Vegas, USA in January and Oscar Larios last July 2 at the Araneta Coliseum here.
