Golovkin forces Stevens corner to surrender – WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (28-0, 25 KOs) came into his fight against Curtis Stevens (25-4) with the look of a killer. The look in his eye was not the same look that he had in his eye when Golovkin faced Rosado or Macklin earlier this year. One could really tell that he really wanted to put a hurting on Stevens and punish him. Good thing that the Stevens corner stepped up and did the right thing by waving the fight off at the end of round number eight, because it could have gotten real nasty and ugly in the very next round. Stevens however, put up a good fight in spurts and showed success when he came forward. As I mentioned before, Golovkin gets turned on at the sight of seeing his foe backing up looking for ways to survive the round. I give Stevens major props for getting up to fight on after he was badly hurt and dropped after eating 2 Golovkin left hooks in round number two. The look on Stevens?s face when he hit the canvas, was that of a man that just saw Alyna Silva and Bella Gonzalez walk by ringside in a tight freakum dress. The thirst is most definitely real folks. Much respect to Stevens for being as game as he could possibly be, and also much respect to Golovkin for continuing to bring the torture. May a future date with Sergio Martinez be in the cards for Triple G. Segura & Marquez fight to a war! – The WBO flyweight eliminator bout between former world champions, Giovani ?Guerrero Azteca? Segura (31-3-1) who scored a spectacular twelfth round KO over hometown favorite Hernan ?Tyson? Marquez (36-4) on Saturday night in Hermosillo, Mexico. As just about everyone expected, was a brutal war. Segura dropped Marquez in round four as he came forth as a pressure stalker to stalk ?Tyson.? Marquez had his moments and also found a home for some of his go to shots, but Segura could not and would simply not be denied. Marquez again in round eleven was dropped and was soon after finally put down for the count with a world rocking straight left after a wild exchange in the final round. Marquez was then given oxygen and taken out on a stretcher. Let?s pray for a speedy recovery for ??Tyson?? Marquez the fighting warrior. Prayers should also be sent for Heavyweight Magomed Abdusalamov who has been placed in a induced coma after his battle against Mike Perez on the Golovkin/Stevens co-feature.
