Pacquiao ready for Larios

OSCAR Larios, the Mexican hombre who will challenge Manny Pacquiao, is arriving Sunday, June 25, in time for his July 2 super featherweight ring date with the Filipino boxing sensation.

Larios, a former bantameight champion, is wrapping up his training in Japan and is expected to hit the country in tip-top shape.

Pacquiao had arrived in the country ahead of Larios and is also about to culminate his training regimen that started in Los Angeles.

Freddie Roach, Pacquiao’s American trainer, had scheduled a couple of sparring sessions for his ward upon arrival and said they will taper off by Monday.

Roach had predicted a knockout victory for Pacquioao, who demolished the great Mexican Erik Morales last January in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Roach said Pacquiao is ready to rumble with Larios for 12 rounds, but said he wouldn’t be surprised if the fight ends in a knockout.

Pacquiao, who lost to Morales on points during their initial meeting, is slated to slug it out a third time with the Mexican this November.

Larios enjoys a height advantage over Pacquiao and is a fast fighter.

The Pacquiao-Larios fight will be televised in the United States on a pay-per-view basis.
