Top Pacquiao ticket to cost P50,000 each

THERE are tickets on the July 2 Manny Pacquiao-Oscar Larios show at the Araneta Coliseum that will cost more than the top-of-the-line P35,000 seats.

But hold on to your wallets since these are not going to be available to ordinary mortals.

There are 84 seats on red carpet that will cost P50,000, but these are not for sale since major backers of the Big Dome promotion dubbed Mano a Mano are going to be the recipients. These individuals would also get Manny Pacquiao CDs, complimentary reserved parking slot and other perks worthy of what the organizers described as ‘’corporate seats.’’

Despite the lofty prices of the tickets, entry passes to the show are selling briskly.

‘’So far, so good,’’ said Team Pacquiao member Jayke Joson yesterday when asked about the ticket sale of next week’s much-awaited slugfest. ‘’The corporate seats are not actually for sale. For invitation only ang mga tickets na ito.’’

There are also tickets worth P45,000 numbering 200 and P35,000 totaling 2,000.

But the fastest-selling are the P7,500 (Upper Box A) and P2,500 (Upper Box B), while the nose-bleed seats pegged at P500 can be had through a text promo initiated by ABS-CBN, which is staging the fight in partnership with Pacquiao’s MP Promotions.

The ticket pricing for the Pacquiao-Larios match is unheard of in the country and even in US standards, the price is high considering that during Pacquiao’s rematch with Erik Morales last January at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas, the most expensive were sold for $ 400 (about P21,000) a pop.
