According to Daily Mail, a British tabloid, Mayweather vs Khan has been finalized.
Several other media outlets, in the US and UK, picked-up the story and ran with it so rumors abound Amir Khan is next for Mayweather.
However, Team Khan insists those reports are false and released a statement minutes ago to address the inaccuracies.
Statement From Team Khan
“Team Khan would like to dispel recent reports that Amir Khan has pulled out of a potential match-up against Devon Alexander on December 7th, taking up a fight against Floyd Mayweather in May of next year instead.”
“Contrary to this story, Amir Khan is currently in training camp in San Francisco with the aim of fighting again in December against Alexander once an agreement can be reached.” —-
While Daily Mail is known for its occasional unreliability and sensationalizing stories, do they know something we don’t? Or are they just looking for some extra traffic?
Daily Mail went into great detail to discuss the terms, insisting the fight will be made official in a few days. Moreover, they hint the bout will not take place at Wembley Stadium on “financial grounds.”
