THE PHILIPPPINE National Police is not discounting the possibility that terrorist groups might take advantage of the upcoming boxing bout between Manny Pacquiao and Mexican Oscar Larios on Sunday, a spokesman said Tuesday.
Senior Superintendent Samuel Pagdilao said they were planning stricter security measures in coordination with the officials of the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City where the match would be held.
“The up and coming fight of Manny Pacquiao will be looked into by the PNP especially by the Quezon City Police District, which is coordinating with security authorities of Araneta,” said Pagdilao.
The police action stems from alleged intelligence reports of a possible terrorist attack during the boxing bout.
