BOXING fans will have a glimpse of the main protagonists in the coming July 2 Mano-a-Mano fight card when Manny Pacquiao and Oscar Larios meet again Monday in a public-press preview at the Araneta Coliseum.
Larios of Mexico was expected to plane in Sunday afternoon from Japan where he trained for the biggest fight of his career.
Larios reportedly broke the rib of his Japanese sparring partner and is in high spirits entering the 12-round super featherweight clash at the Bid Dome.
Pacquiao, 27, took a time out from his training regimen in Manila to visit his family in General Santos City Friday, but was expected to return Saturday in time for Monday’s preview set at 11 a.m.
A formal press conference will be held Thursday at the Discovery Suites in Ortigas and the official weight-in is set Saturday.
Pacquiao and Larios are set to hold a public workout, allowing the public a glimpse of what to expect come fight day.
Pacquiao reportedly is going for an early knockout, while Larios has vowed to pull off an upset and stun the Filipino boxing fans.
The Filipino fighter, though, is heavily favored to win the bout.
Meanwhile, a very promising fighter in the person of Glenn Porras of North Cotabato will be featured in one of the undercards of the event.
Porras is scheduled to quare off with Jerope Mercado in an eight-rounder.
