Bobby Pacquiao said Monday his is scheduling another match for him following the fourth round victory against American Kevin Kelly on Saturday (Sunday in Manila) at Madison Square Garden in New York.
“That’s what my manager said. He is thinking of WBC or WBO next month (Iyon po ang sabi ng manager ko iniisip nila…’yung sa WBC, WBO…next month),” Pacquiao told a DZMM interview from Los Angeles, California. He did not elaborate.
Pacquiao scored for Philippines after beating Kelly, 38. The victory retained his World Boxing Council Continental Americas superfeatherweight crown. The win also made him the WBC junior lightweight champion.
He said the win against Kelly would be impossible if not for the support of Filipinos.
Pacquiao, 26, is in Los Angeles to support brother Manny who is training for his July 2 match against Mexican Oscar Larios in Manila.
The win against Kelly improved Pacquiao’s record to 27 wins, 11 losses and three draws with 12 by way of knockout. Kelly, meanwhile, dropped to 58-7-2 with 39 KOs.
