TAKING a much-needed break from rigid training, Rey “Boom-Boom” Bautista signs autographs at the Fight Club in Banilad Town Center at 6 p.m. today along with fellow ALA Boy and Orient Pacific Boxing Federation superflyweight champion Z “The Dream” Gorres.
Fresh off a third-round demolition of Nicaraguan Roberto Bonilla last May 20 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, Bautista started training after a few days’ rest and a short visit to his hometown of Candijay, Bohol.
The fight against Mexican veteran Alejandro Felix Montiel on July 2 in the undecard of the Manny Pacquiao-Oscar Larios match at the Araneta Coliseum, will be Bautista’s “fight of his life.”
Early this week, Bautista also held an autograph signing session in Tagbilaran City’s Island City Mall, where he dazzled fans with a sparring session against other ALA Gym fighters AJ Banal, Robert Allanic and Franklin Albia.
Gorres is also fresh off an impressive win over Pedro Rincon Miranda last May 27 at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California. Gorres scored four knockdowns on his way to a 100-87 shutout decision win.
Fight Club is a sister company of world-class ALA Boxing Gym, which offers boxing training formatted from the same training program used by professional and amateur boxers. Its training staff is comprised of former be-medaled amateur standouts and former Philippine champions.
