TICKETS for the Mano-A-Mano showdown for the title fight between World Boxing Council International super featherweight champion Manny Pacquiao and former two-time super bantamweight champion Oscar Larios at the Araneta Coliseum on July 2 are now on sale.
According to an officer of Araneta Coliseum’s TicketNet outlet, Patron ringside tickets cost P31,680; Lower Box A is worth P21,120; Upper Box A is sold at P7,920; and Upper Box B is priced at P2,640.
ABS-CBN vice president for sports Peter Musngi said some 5,000 general admission tickets will be given away free to winners of a promo by the network.
Fight fans, who have been eagerly awaiting the sale of tickets, had complained on the Manny Pacquiao Web site about the delay, but Musngi said there was no design whatsoever to delay the sale of tickets, saying that ABS-CBN wanted tickets to go on sale one month before the July 2 showdown.
Meanwhile, Shelly Finkel and the members of his management team, which includes lawyers Nick Kahn and Keith Davidson, have kept their word and dropped the lawsuits filed against Pacquiao, his lawyer Franklin Gacal and close friend and confidant Wakee Salud.
In fact, in an apparent display of harmony within Team Pacquiao, Finkel and Kahn will arrive with Pacquiao and trainer Freddie Roach aboard a Philippine Airlines flight from the United States on Tuesday morning.
In an overseas telephone conversation with Viva Sports/Standard Today, Kahn said: “It’s completely resolved,” referring to the lawsuits, stating that a “withdrawal with prejudice has been filed” with the Los Angeles Superior Court. This means that the case could not be refiled.
Gacal had expressed concern over the initial withdrawal filed by Finkel’s lawyers “without prejudice,” which meant they had the option to refile the case at any time and requested that the withdrawal motion be changed.
Kahn indicated they complied with the request and that they will “receive a conformed copy from the Court which is just an acknowledgment that the case is dismissed with prejudice.”
