Freddie Roach preparing Pacquiao for Erik Morales
Trainer Freddie Roach is so certain that Manny Pacquiao will handle Mexican Oscar Larios on July 2nd that he’s planned a regimen for the 41-3-2 Filipino buzzsaw to prepare for Erik Morales.
Roach, the Manilla Bulletin asserts, wants his fighter to get back to training beginning the second week of September.
Roach wants Pac Man on hand approximately two months before the knockout artist rumbles with 48-4 Morales in their anticipated rubber match on Nov. 18 in Las Vegas.
Top Rank boss Bob Arum said the Pacquiao-Morales III will be a go at the Thomas and Mack Center in Vegas, with Steve Wynn and the Caesars Palace group banding together for hosting duties.
“This is going to be bigger than the first two fights,” said Arum, who told the paper that Morales is determined to avenge the 10th-round stoppage loss last January.
Hmm. What do you think 56-4-1 Larios makes of all this talk of Morales? It has to be a supreme motivator for the Mexican. The makings of an upset, perhaps?
