On Tuesday in Los Angeles, the first face to face took place between Floyd Mayweather Jr. (44-0, 26KOs) and Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (42-0-1, 30KOs), as the two fighters were shooting promos for their upcoming fight on September 14th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The match takes place at a catch-weight of 152-pounds for Canelo’s WBC/WBC/Ring junior middleweight titles.
Junior welterweight contender Ricardo Alvarez, the older brother of Canelo, said “Mayweather, you could see the fear on his face.” Ricardo felt Mayweather was intimidated, a bit on edge and not his usual self as was seen in past face-off situations.
Ricardo also noted that his brother will spend a few weeks training in Big Bear and will stay in a house owned by Shane Mosley, who Canelo decisioned last May in Las Vegas.
