‘Boom Boom’ will show wares, too

RISING Filipino boxing star Rey ‘Boom Boom’ Bautista will see action in the undercard of the Mano-A-Mano, Pilipinas versus Mexico 80-round card titular showdown between world champion Manny Pacquiao and Mexico’s Oscar Larios on July 2 at the Araneta Coliseum.

It’s going to be a big test for the pride of Candijay, Bohol, who will meet Mexican Alejandro Felix Montiel.

A few days ago, Bautista scored a sensational win over Nicaragua’s Roberto Bonilla.

ABS-CBN, the promotions’ media partner, will broadcast the fight around the globe. It will also be viewed worldwide throughout The Filipino Channel (TFC), which reaches North America, Europe, the Middle East, Australia, Guam, Japan and other parts of Asia.

Like Pacquiao, Bautista is trained by Freddie Roach and Edito Villamor.

His manager is Cebu’s Tony Aldeguer while his business manager is Michael Koncz of Canada.

Bautista is expected to be the show-stealer at the Big Dome.

The Boom-Boom-Montiel encounter is one of four 10-rounders featuring three other Mexicans in a special first offering by the MP (Manny Pacquiao) Promotions.

Montiel, a knockout artist from Los Mochis, Mexico, is trained by father Jose Felix Montiel. An orthodox boxer, Montiel has fought 58 times, won 51, 30 by knockout. He has seven losses with no draws.
