IBF Junior Middleweight world champion Ishe Smith (25-5-11KO) sat down with 8CN and talked about his upcoming title defense against the mandatory challenger, top contender Carlo Molina. Smith tells 8CN that he’s looking forward to getting back into the ring and defending his world title in front of the hometown fans in Las Vegas. The fight will take place at the Hard Rock on July 19th.
Personally I can’t think of one current world champion that has savored their title more than Ishe Smith has. Smith reflects back to when he was riding the bus to the gym. This in fact wasn’t very long ago. He talks about how life for him has changed since becoming a world champion.
One thing is for certain, Ishe Smith the man hasn’t changed at all. He’s still a humble guy, and he has not forgotten the path that has led to him where he’s at now. He gives a lot of credit to Floyd Mayweather Jr for taking a chance on him. He is very thankful to the entire Money Team for all that they have done for him.
