Pacquiao now working on foot, arm movement

Manny Pacquiao is now deep in training at the Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles as he prepares for his much-awaited fight against dangerous Mexican Oscar Larios, billed as “Mano a Mano” on July 2 at the Araneta Coliseum.

Reports from Los Angeles said trainer Freddie Roach and his assistants are emphasizing on improving Pacquiao’s footwork and arm movements to counter the unorthodox style of Larios, who has vowed to frustrate Pacquiao and the hometown crowd come fight night.

Pacquiao, who vows to train and fight hard, earlier said the bout is a gift to his fans.

With Roach closely watching his ward, Pacquiao trained with Gerry Balabagan, a Filipino boxer based in Florida.

Pacquiao’s training starts at 5:30 a.m. After jogging 10 to 11 kilometers, he goes to the house of Joe Ramos, his Filipino American partner in Glendale, California, where “Pac-Man” also has a home.

This is followed by a short nap until before breakfast, during which he subsists on a daily milk-and-bread diet.

Early in the afternoon, he walks to the Wild Card gym at Vine Street, which is about 7 kilometers from Glendale, to start his gym work. After finishing his routine, he goes home, takes a nap until before lunchtime of milk and brown bread.

Pacquiao relaxes by surfing the net and reading his e-mail after the 7:30 p.m. dinner. He also unwinds while strumming his favorite guitar.
