FLOYD MAYWEATHER will collide with Mexican sensation Saul Alvarez in Las Vegas on September 14.
Mayweather, widely regarded as the best pound-for-pound fighter on the planet, has agreed to face the undefeated Alvarez at a catchweight of 152lb.
But both Money?s WBA Super light-middleweight title and Alvarez?s WBC belt will be on the line at the MGM Grand.
Confirming the fight on Twitter, Mayweather said: ?I chose my opponent for September 14 and it?s Canelo Alvarez.
?I?m giving the fans what they want.?
Mayweather won his version of the WBA title by outpointing Miguel Cotto in May 2012, while his last outing earlier this month saw him defend the WBC welterweight crown against Robert Guerrero.
And Leonard Ellerbe, chief executive of Mayweather Promotions, insists unbeaten Money will have no problem handling the naturally bigger Alvarez.
Ellerbe said: ?Canelo can come in at 200lb if he wants to ? he?ll still get his butt whipped.
?Floyd is the best athlete in sports. He won?t have any problems with 152lb. From day one, Floyd made it very clear he wanted to fight Canelo Alvarez.
?This is the fight the fans wanted and this is what they are getting. It?s the biggest fight in all of boxing and the biggest fight Floyd can possibly make.?
Ellerbe added: ?This is a gigantic fight and it will be a tremendous promotion.
?You have Money, who is the best in the sport, and you have Canelo, the guy everybody wants to see attempt to knock Floyd off his throne.
?It gets no bigger and better than this.?
While Mayweather, 36, boasts an unblemished record of 44 fights, Alvarez is just two wins behind him with 42 victories and one draw from 43 outings.
And the man known as Canelo believes the fact he is 14 years younger than the American veteran will see him come out on top.
He said: ?I?m very excited, this is the fight I have wanted for a while.
?It?s been talked about for a while and now that it?s signed, sealed and delivered, I am very happy. I will be the first to beat Floyd.
?It?s 152lb and that is fine. I will have to work a little harder, but I feel I can make the weight and that I will be strong.
?To make the fight I had to give a little, he had to give a little, too.
?I feel it was fair and both sides are happy. He fought at 154lb before, but he wanted the catchweight and I accepted it.

The bout will be the second in Mayweather?s six-fight contract with American cable TV network Showtime, which could pocket him more than $200million over its 30-month duration.
