TWO young Filipino fighters will be fighting in South Africa against two South African former world title contenders this weekend.
Dayer Gabutan takes on Vusi Malinga in a 12-round International Boxing Federation (IBF) bantamweight title eliminator, while Eduard Penerio faces off with Zolani Tete at the Carnival City Casino in Johannesburg this Sunday dawn (RP time).
No. 8 rated Gabutan is 18-1-2 with nine knockouts, while the 33-year-old Malinga is 20-4-1 with 12 knockouts. The winner of the eliminator will earn a shot at the vacant IBF bantamweight crown, possibly against No. 1 ranked Jamie McDonnell of England.
