Guess who’s coming to June 2 fight?

Marco Antonio Barrera may make a surprise appearance during the Manny Pacquiao-Oscar Larios fight on June 2 at the Araneta Coliseum.

This was disclosed yesterday by Eric Pineda, Pacquiao’s chief marketing man, who said ABS-CBN, broadcaster of the fight, plans to make the Mexican fighter the TV commentator for its Latin audience.

Even more interesting, Pineda said Oscar de la Hoya, who handles the promotion of Barrera and who is keen on landing a possible Pacquiao-Barrera encounter at year end, might also drop by just to see things for himself.

According to Pineda, Barrera and Dela Hoya would already be free by the time the Pacquiao-Larios hits a crescendo as Barrera is set to fight on May 20 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and Dela Hoya is booked to enter the ring on May 6 at the MGM Grand.

Adding prestige to the already star-studded cast at the Big Dome cast is the appearance at ring center of Michael Buffer, the man with the booming voice who is best known for belting out “Let’s Get Ready To Rumble” in big fights in the US.
